CAPTAIN’S NEWSLETTER
Wingate Game 2 on 20th January, 2019.
Dear Fellow Nomads,
Salutations to all Nomads and their families. For those of you that were at Wingate, we played on a great course in immaculate condition.
We had a field of 124 players with 4 prospectives, 4 guests and 3 no-shows who were all guests. Those who invite guests are entirely responsible for the actions of their guests and must therefore ensure that their guests conform to the Nomads norms, ethics and practices.
|
Despite the difficult economic situation currently prevailing, we still get support from our members and the Wingate game was kindly sponsored by Health International, represented by our National Chairman, Denis Tapson who was presented with a Nomads Certificate of Appreciation.
My thanks to you all for participating and for attending prize giving in support and respect of our sponsor.
Let’s continue to support our sponsors just as they support us.
|
Monthly Sponsors
We are also very grateful to our platinum sponsors Glenbrynth, Golden Pilsener, and Nyaradzo Life Assurance Company.

Wingate Golf Club.
|
Many thanks go to the General Manager of Wingate Golf club, Di Fynn and her team for all the hard work, at very short notice from the Nomads, that they put into the club and in particular the course.
I had the pleasure of playing in the same 4-ball with the Captain of Wingate, Bill Mannix, who expressed gratitude to host Nomads Mashonaland.

Thank Yous.
Our Nomads ladies Alison, Lyn, Alana and Judy we can never say thank you enough for your contribution to our monthly meetings. You really make it happen for us, the registration, compilation of results, raffles etc. Your dedication to Nomads is amazing and we are truly blessed to have these ladies looking after us at every monthly game.
To our starters, waking up early morning to see us tee-off on time. Honorary Life Member Greg Pozzo and Rod Bennet you did it so well gentlemen and we are forever grateful for your contribution to our great Club.
The gazebos that we use to shield the starters have now reached the end of their useful life and we need to come up with a plan to secure new gazebos to protect our starters from the elements.
ON THE SICK LIST.
Ben Ajidah is recovering very well, albeit that he had to learn almost every life-skill from scratch. He hopes to be going to the driving range soon and hopes that he will come back to golf with a better swing than before his illness set in.
Narenda Zavery has recovered well from the procedure he had done on him in December, 2018 and will be joining us for golf very soon.
Goodwell Nyakudya was reported to have been admitted to Avenues clinic in January.
We wish the 3 gentlemen a speedy recovery. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Should anyone of you know a member of Nomads who is sick, please kindly inform the Captain or any of the Committee members.
FINES MASTER
Many thanks to Dumi Mabhena for a fantastic, humorous and thoroughly enjoyable fines’ session.
Everybody was in stitches with laughter and as usual made quite a few people part with their US$ and B$ with smiles on their faces.
Dumi, we very much appreciate your effort and support to our great Club.
Gentlemen we are always looking for a new face to do a fines session at one of our games, so please if you feel you can extract some money from our fellow Nomads and still leave them with a smile on their face, which isn’t a difficult job, then please speak to our Public Relations Officer, Shane Zangel.
